Moon Necklace Unique Brass, 1920s
This is from my personal collection. I have had it since the late 1960s. I have had it stored in my special jewelry trunk for so long. I have worn it on special occasions and it always drums up interesting conversation. I always felt it was magical, being the person that gave it to me was a great story teller and as a child I thought they were a good witch. The necklace has 5 moons on it. The chain is 20" long. The largest Moon is 2" long, 2 medium moons are 1.25" and the smallest two are 1". The chain is very dainty interwoven sort of figure 8s. It is not delicate though, it is very strong. Each link has been melted or fuzed somehow to complete each individual figure 8. You would have to cut the links to separate them. I have a couple of close up pictures to help show this. Age wear the brass has some nice patina. The clasp is not the original clasp. It needs a good home where it will be shown off and loved.
