Wooden box shell clam shaped painted wooden box. Unusual and Unique. 60s
This vintage clam shaped wooden box is very unique. It is painted to sort of look shell like. It opens on a wooden hinge. It is top heavey when you open it. You have to hold it when you open it, so it does not tilt back.
It measures 6" at widest the middle to 3 1/2" at the back. 5 1/4" high. The inside dish space is 5 1/2" across, 4" front to back. It has a very solid feel to it. There is some age wear a couple small spots where paint has rubbed off. It is Definatly a conversation piece. It was given to me in the 60s by my Aunt who acquired it from an antique store in Florida.
